- White Paper #5: The Integrated Reconciliation Review – Deploying Strategy With IBP
The supply review tells the story of the changes to the demand plan since the previous month and will indicate how supply will execute against it – building inventory here, reserving capacity there – thus meeting the (updated) requirements of the commercial team and customers.
This fourth white paper of our series, “Deploying Strategy with Integrated Business Planning,” Oliver Wight’s David Goddard and Tom Strohl, focus on the third step in the monthly IBP process – The Supply Review. The supply review provides the means to operationalize the strategy based on four key parameters.
The Supply Review can help evaluate budget performance, model the impact of tactics used in manufacturing, sourcing, distribution, and logistics, and identify assumptions, opportunities, and vulnerabilities in future plans. Testing these plans against the company’s strategy can keep organizations competitive and successful in their markets, ensuring customer and stakeholder satisfaction.
